The Oyster Cottage

While holidaying in Ireland why not stay in our luxurious cottage in the heart of Ballinakill Bay.

Newly built and located on the Wild Atlantic Way, this cottage provides panoramic views of the Atlantic and the hills of Connemara National Park. We are halfway down a boreen (little road) close to the Wild Atlantic Way and the village of Letterfrack, with plenty to see and do and great places to eat and drink.

The Cottage is a modern interpretation of the traditional farm building, stunningly placed right over the water. You can see our hatchery and nursery from one side of the cottage and breath-taking views of Connemara National Park and the ocean from the other.

A modern kitchen has everything required to shuck platters of oysters, serve plates of tapas, cook for yourself or merely open a decent bottle as you sit and be mesmerised by the view. There’s an open-plan living area with large dining table and comfy sofas to rest in after a day’s activity or equally a day spent relaxing.

There are two ensuite double bedrooms at either end of the cottage with gorgeous views from the picture windows. Outside there’s a deck directly on the water’s edge. The perfect location to enjoy a platter of freshly shucked oysters.

The nearby village of Letterfrack has everything you need for your stay with high quality bars, restaurants and cafes, a well-stocked supermarket and Connemara National Park starts here, with easy access to climb Diamond Hill. Kylemore Abbey and Gardens is only minutes away and the Cottage makes a brilliant base for exploring this part of Connemara.
